Through the mediation process, parties to a dispute can tailor a solution that is just right for them - a solution the court, many times, would not have authority to provide.  The mediator is a neutral facilitator who assists the parties in coming to an agreement; unlike a judge, the mediator does not make decisions for the parties.  Mediation is voluntary and confidential.  Statistics show that parties to disputes generally have a very high satisfaction rate with the mediation process, when compared to litigation.   In general, mediation can lead to a much faster and less expensive result than litigation.
